As you will no doubt have read, we are hugely disappointed to report that a fire was started deliberately yesterday evening at Devonshire. This has caused great shock to the whole of our school community.
Thanks to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, the fire was quickly put under control and we are fortunate that the damage is cosmetic and not structural. We are continuing to work closely with Lancashire Police and the Fire Investigation Team.
Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to ensure that the school can still open to all pupils tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September. We will contact parents and carers again later today (Wednesday 2nd September) with further updates.
